Great Website Ideas I am Giving Up.

I give up! At least on a few site ideas I had about a year ago. Every now and again I get a bright idea for a website and I register an appropriate domain name. Honestly though - I barely have the time to keep this blog up, so a lot of my projects simply never get past the idea stage. I’ve decided to give up on a few ideas I had and liquidate the domains I purchased for each. Here is the list of domains and what I planned to do with them.

I was going to develop a keyword research tool that compared overture and wordtracker search volume and compared it with rankings using Google search API and analytics from compete API.AdwordsMD.com
“MD” like medical doctor. I planned to build a web application that used Google Adwords API to pull campaign reports and run an analysis providing suggestions for PPC campaign optimization. Eventually I would have used the site to do lead generation for my SEM company (fortunately I never really needed to ).HomeSpender.com
Home Spender was suppose to be an online Home Renovation Escrow / Management service. With the home renovation industry in North America being ranked #2 for most reported complaints (contractors taking deposits and not starting or receiving full payment but not finishing), I thought it would be great to create an online escrow/ consumer protection system. From a business stand point I could have monetized this in so many ways it’s unreal!PriceForAll.com
Originally I intended to create a social shopping site with this domain. A sort of Digg like shopping review / social recommendation site. I got as far as testing different designs on the Pligg CMS – but never really thought about the business behind it.
I think all of the ideas are worth millions and I hope someone out there will eventually produce successful sites based on those ideas. Due to time limitation and successes in other projects I have developed, I have decided to give up on those personal project.
